DISCLAIMERS
Waiting Periods: Many dental plans have waiting periods on basic and major services, which can vary by state. All or part of a waiting period may be satisfied for members covered on an EMI Individual Dental plan as long as the prior coverage is without a significant break in coverage of 90 consecutive days or more. For new members with plans other than EMI Health, up to 12 months of credit (based on the number of months covered on the prior plan) may apply. As of 10/01/2024, individuals with direct plans (plans obtained directly from EMI) can submit documentation of prior insurance coverage for review and potential credit toward their waiting periods. Proof of coverage and coverage dates may be satisfied with a letter from the prior carrier, a creditable coverage letter, or a group bill.
