SUMMARY OF JOB: Under the direction of the Accounts Receivable Manager, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for processing and recording daily bank deposits, verifying and posting details of business transactions (i.e. rates and adjustments) and researching and resolving customer payment discrepancies. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process and record daily bank deposits.
  • Verify and post details of business transactions, such as rates, adjustments and payments.
  • Research and resolve customer payment discrepancies.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Preferred Associates Degree in accounting or related field preferred. Two years of accounting experience.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to function in a team environment.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and manage time.

SUMMARY OF JOB: Under the direction of the Claims Supervisor, the Dental Claims Editor I resolves and adjudicates dental insurance claims. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews electronic and paper insurance claim forms and related documents for completeness.
  • Determines and understands the coverage provided under a member’s plan to determine if claims are payable according to EMI Health’s guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Receives and works queue inventory through the claims system.
  • Researches claims/pre-treatment estimates for supporting documentation including eligibility, applicable benefits, processing policies and coordination of benefits.
  • Exercises claim judgement within policy guidelines to makes claim payment decisions to pay, request additional information or deny a claim.
  • Resolves exceptions and pends for dental claims to a pay, pend, or deny status in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Handles claims in the “Bad Data” queue.
  • Identifies procedures requiring review and refers to appropriate consultant. Maintains tracking, decision and claim resolution of referral.
  • Assists team members in support of achieving department and office goals.
  • Attends department meetings and training sessions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED or two or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of dental terminology, ADA/CDT coding, and dental insurance plans and benefits.
  • General knowledge of Coordination of Benefits rules, preferred.
  • General knowledge of orthodontic claims adjudication, preferred.

SUMMARY OF JOB: Under direction of the Enrollment Supervisor, the Enrollment Representative receives and processes new enrollment applications, enrollment changes and dis-enrollments in the claims system. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and reviews enrollment applications forms for completeness and accuracy.
  • Requests additional information from the Group as needed.
  • Enters new enrollment application forms, electronic 834s, online enrollments and cancellation requests accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Processes dis-enrollments, additions and changes, including address changes.
  • Responds to incoming calls and interfaces with customers via telephone to respond to routine inquiries and resolve concerns.
  • Communicates with the group enrollment contact via telephone or email to resolve enrollment issues and answer questions concerning the enrollment process.
  • Assists in matters related to premium billings and reconciliation of payments received.
  • Performs assigned duties and tasks to meet departmental and corporate goals, improve operational skills and increase knowledge.
  • Provides input for creation and maintenance of Enrollment policies and procedures.  

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to learn new software skills as needed. 
  • 10-key by touch.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and interact well with other departments and co-workers. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

SUMMARY OF JOB: Under the direction of the Actuary, the Underwriting Analyst I oversees the underwriting of all products, rate calculations, product development, data analysis, agent communications and group reporting. This is a full-time, exempt position. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organizes, prepares and delivers insurance quotes to agents and clients.
  • Assists with providing, recommending and implementing strategies related to underwriting.
  • Assists with development of pricing strategies to maximize growth, profits and retention.
  • Assists with premium rate calculations, including calculations for renewals and RFPs.
  • Assists with rating and presentation of all products sold by the company.
  • Works with Actuarial and Marketing departments in the development of new products.
  • Summarizes and quantifies changes in benefits, costs and trends using statistical methods, modeling experience and forecasting future events.
  • Conducts cost/benefit analyses and evaluations of programs.
  • Creates basic correspondence to communicate data and the interpretation thereof.
  • Analyzes, compares and evaluates fees provided to providers ensuring fees are reasonable to providers and competitive.
  • Develops and prepares reports for agents, clients, VP of Underwriting and Chief Actuary.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An undergraduate degree from a recognized college or university is required.
  • One to two years of insurance underwriting preferred.
  • Dedicated professional with unquestioned integrity, a strong work ethic, and respect for others.
  • Evidence of successful leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Utah’s health insurance industry.
